Celebrate National Book Month

It’s National Book Month, and what better time to get caught up on your reading? You might choose to stop in at your local library for a new release, support you local independent bookstore, or hit the mall — but here are two more ideas.

Have heard of Bookcrossing? It’s a network of book lovers who “set free” their books into the wild for anyone to find. It’s a neat way to share books with others, and you can track your books’ travels with the Bookcrossing ID number (BCID) assigned to each book registered on the site.

Paperbackswap is another way to share your library with others. Just enter in the ISBN number, and you’ll be notified of who wants your book. Follow the instructions to print out a mailing label, affix postage, and send! You can also request books — the shipper pays postage so it all evens out.
