More to do at DTW

There are two free “attractions” in the McNamara Terminal. The first, and most well known, is the black-granite-and-steel fountain right in the middle of Concourse A. Inspired by the hub and spoke transportation systems and air-route maps found in in-flight magazines, the fountain features dancing streams of water. A crowd can usually be found gathered around the fountain; if you’re lucky, a seat will be available in one of the roomy armchairs adjacent to the fountain. It’s also a common meeting spot and a great place to people watch.

The other “attraction” is the sound-and-light-show that goes on in the tunnel leading from Concourse A to Concourses B and C.
